Research – by both students and faculty – is given great importance.

The extension services of our NSS unit (including the innovative Municipal School Project), SCWSD and SCESA (the Sophia College Ex-Students’ Association) indicate commitment to values and to nation-building.

The College has outstanding infrastructure, including the verdant gardens and beautiful heritage buildings, an up-to-date information centre, excellent science and computer laboratories, gymnasium, basketball court, multipurpose hall and convention centre.

Student support is fostered by our full-time social worker, counsellors, the Coordinator of Student Activities and two Wardens.  Special aid is available for students from socially and economically backward groups.
